Certified Professional Middle School History Tutoring
In middle school, students will study a wide range of history from ancient civilizations to the early history of the United States. They will cover topics like religion, slavery, war, and human oppression. The curriculum emphasizes learning through exposure to primary resources—in other words, studying history through the words of the people who lived it. Students will focus on four main social science disciplines: civics/government, economics, geography, and history.
Sixth Grade
History in the sixth grade is focused on ancient civilizations, with an emphasis on geography. Students will study the people and events that led to the dawn of the western and non-western ancient civilizations. They will learn about everyday lives in these times—the problems and accomplishments as well as the development of social, economic and political structures. Students will consider why civilizations developed when and where they did, why and how they became dominant, and then why they declined.

They will also study the rise of industrialization and how it led to contemporary social and economic conditions.
