Certified Professional US History (Regular/AP) Tutoring
U.S. History, generally taken in 11th grade, examines major developments and turning points in American history from the late 19th century to present. Major themes include: expanding role of the federal government, emergency of a corporate economy and the role of organized labor, the role of the Federal government and the Federal Reserve system in regulating the economy, the impact of technology on American society, changes in racial, ethnic and gender dynamics and the movement toward equal rights, and the rise of the United States as a major world power. Students will learn how geography shaped many of these developments. U.S. History is also offered as a very challenging AP course, with students needing to learn how to answer the Free Response Questions and Document Based Questions that they are assigned in class, on tests and quizzes and on the AP exam. Students who pass the AP US History test at the end of the school year will earn college credit.
