Kindergarten Tutoring

From a very early age, it is important for children to be able to keep up with their school work and to understand what they are being taught. Many parents assume that students won’t need private tutoring until they are older. The truth is that students can struggle academically at any age, and early intervention with a private tutor is often the best solution. If students feel that they are lacking comprehension or mastery, this often impacts their confidence and self esteem. Building a foundation of fundamental skills is key!

As early as kindergarten, it is not uncommon for some students to have a difficult time because they just haven’t developed the skills necessary to keep up with the class. For example, a Kindergartener with an early birthday who is almost six years old when the school year starts may have an advantage over one who didn’t turn five until the summer simply because of the age difference. Also, students will comprehend early reading, writing or arithmetic skills at varying rates. While kindergarten teachers are often equipped to work with students at different learning abilities, the truth is that it’s hard to give each student individualized attention when there are anywhere from 20 to 30 or more students in a classroom.
