Foreign Languages Tutoring
Some students will start studying a foreign language in middle school so that when they enter high school, they will be ready for the second year of that language. Others start in the 9th grade. Regardless of which language your student is studying, there are many similarities when learning a new language. Vocabulary and pronunciation will be emphasized in the early months of study. Students will then be taught about conjugating verbs into all tenses as well as continually adding to their vocabulary in order to be able to develop sentences, and then paragraphs and full papers. As students advance, they may be assigned literature to read in the foreign language as well as large projects or papers that must be done in the foreign language. Students can often take a 5th year of a language at the AP level and then take the AP exam at the end of the year and earn college credits.
