Certified Professional Statistics (Regular/AP) Tutoring
This course introduces students to concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing and drawing conclusions from data. Statistics is offered as a regular course and at the AP level at some schools. A Statistics course provides tools for describing variability in data and for making informed decisions that take it into account.
The major themes in this class include:
- » Exploring/interpreting data, sampling and experimentation → qualitative vs. quantitative
- » Surveys → open ended vs. closed ended questions, determine question sequence, tally and present results
- » Anticipating patterns
- » Rules of probability → understand and use independence and conditional probability
- » Statistical inference → making inferences and justifying conclusions from sample surveys, experiments and observational studies
