Certified Professional SSAT/ISEE Test Preparation
The SSAT and ISEE are both standardized tests used for students seeking enrollment in independent schools. They measure basic verbal, math and reading skills. Admissions officers at independent schools use these test scores as one of the tools in determining whether to admit a student. In general, the verbal section of the SSAT tends to be more difficult than that of the ISEE, whereas the math section of the ISEE is more difficult than that of the SSAT. Some schools will require one or the other test, while others will accept either one. The SSAT is offered at three levels: Elementary (grades 3-4 applying for grades 4-5), middle (grades 5-7 applying for grades 6-8) or upper level (grades 8-11 applying for grades 9-12) The ISEE has four levels: Primary (grades 1-3, applying for grades 2-4), Lower (grades 4-5 applying for grades 5-6), Middle (grades 6-7 applying for grades 7-8), and Upper (grades 8-11 applying for grades 9-12). Synergy Academics tutors can help your student determine which one of these tests to take (assuming they are able to choose either one) and then to prepare for the test by reviewing sample questions and providing strategies for success. Students will also be provided with mock tests to desensitize as well as tutor further according to areas of weakness.
