Helping Students Reach Their
True Potential
Professional tutors who provide one-on-one tutoring can be of great benefit to students who are struggling academically. Unfortunately, very few students actually receive this type of assistance. Synergy Academics professional tutors see everyday how much of an impact one-on-one tutoring can have. Students’ performance improves in school (higher grades on exams, easier time completing homework and much improved report cards) and equally importantly, they have increased self esteem as well as more belief in their own abilities.
Synergy Academics offers a comprehensive set of services for Warner Center families. We provide subject tutoring for students in kindergarten through 12th grade in over three dozen courses. We also have a proven standardized test preparation program, an onsite Study Center, college admissions counseling, and financial aid counseling. Our highly-qualified professional tutors can help students in all grades with any academic subject. We are able to schedule sessions in advance or on demand if your students need last minute help in studying for a test or completing homework. Doing well academically is paramount to all Warner Center students and we are here to help make that happen.

Warner Center Study Center for Homework Assistance
It is critical for students to stay on top of their homework, whether it’s reading, worksheets, memorization or problem solving. Studies show that a reasonable amount of homework helps students do better in school as long as they keep up with it. Homework is also a tool that allows parents to monitor their students and make sure they are not only keeping up but also understand the work they are being assigned. When students are overwhelmed with too much homework they don’t understand, they are easily stressed and frustrated and may be tempted to avoid doing homework altogether.
Synergy Academics’ onsite Study Center is an ideal solution for Warner Center students. Whether students prefer to study right after school, in the evenings or on the weekend, the Study Center is available. Students can work in cubicles or private rooms and the center is always quiet and comfortable. A proctor is always available to help study center students with their homework or assist when they are preparing for a test. There’s no better way to help your Warner Center student manage his or her homework productively in a distraction-free comfortable space.

Standardized Test Preparation for Warner Center Students
From kindergarten on, students will likely be required to take standardized tests for a variety of reasons. If students apply to private middle schools or high schools, they will often be required to take an entrance exam. Students in AP courses can take AP tests to get college credit, and those applying to college will likely have to take a college entrance exam. It is important for students to prepare for these in order to perform at their highest ability and receive their highest possible scores. Synergy Academics has excellent standardized test tutors who have proven very successful in working with Warner Center students to improve their scores and increase their self confidence.
» SAT
The SAT is a standardized timed test for college applicants. It has two math sections, one that allows the use of a calculator and one that does not. There is also a reading section and a writing section. The highest possible score is 1,600 points (800 for math and 800 for reading and writing). There is also an optional essay section, which we highly recommend. The essay is read by two people and scored between 2-8 points. Many colleges require the essay, plus it makes students more competitive as a college applicant. Working with a Synergy Academics test prep tutor ensures that students are prepared for the SAT and will be confident and able to do their best on test day.
» ACT
The ACT is another college entrance exam, equally recognized by colleges and universities. The ACT consists of four sections (English, math, reading and science). Each section is worth 36 points and the composite score is an average of the four section scores, making 36 is the highest composite score possible. The allotted time for each section is shorter than for the SAT, so learning time management is an important aspect of ACT preparation. Like with the SAT, there is also an optional essay that we recommend students take since some schools require it. It will also strengthen their applications. Essays are read by two people and scored on a 1-12 point scale. Synergy Academics tutors will work with your students to ensure they are well prepared for the ACT exam.
» SSAT/ISEE
Students applying to a private middle or high school are often required to take an entrance exam, which allows the school to evaluate their abilities. The SSAT and ISEE both include math and verbal sections. Professional tutors at Synergy Academics can help Warner Center students prepare for these tests and minimize any anxiety they feel while maximizing preparedness.
» CHSPE
The California High School Proficiency Examination provides students with the equivalent of a high school diploma from the California Board of Education. The test includes math and English language sections. Warner Center students who work with a Synergy Academics professional tutor will have increased confidence as well as be prepared for the types of questions asked, thereby increasing the likelihood that they will pass the exam.
» GRE
Many students who decide to continue their education beyond college will have to take a graduate school standardized admissions exam. The GRE is a common one, required for many different programs. The test has three sections (verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing), the first two of which are worth 170 points each and the last (writing) worth up to 6 points. Synergy Academics has excellent tutors who can work with Warner Center students to prepare for the GRE.
